Biography

Both an experienced trial lawyer and a CPA, Ms. Spencer is known for an aggressive, organized, and highly effective litigation style. In settlement talks, she has crafted strategies for the creative and favorable resolution of lawsuits and other disputes, where a settlement makes sense for the overall business strategy of her clients. If a favorable negotiated resolution is not possible, however, then Ms. Spencer fully employs her twenty-eight plus years of courtroom experience on her client’s behalf. Ms. Spencer’s accounting background helps her bring a pragmatic business perspective to her clients, providing her with the ability to immediately understand complex financial issues so as to assist clients in achieving strategic business objectives during high-stakes disputes and litigation. Her extensive commercial and products liability litigation experience has included representation of national banks, mortgage companies, technology companies, inventors, software companies, physicians and medical service providers, pharmaceutical companies and industrial manufacturers, as well as corporate executives and numerous individuals.

Accomplished in handling complex matters, involving amounts in controversy from a few thousand to multimillion dollar matters, Ms. Spencer is known in Dallas as a lawyer who gets results. Ms. Spencer has successfully litigated commercial cases on all financial issues. She has litigated non-compete agreements and hasrepresented developers of high-end IP when they were underpaid royalties by international companies, and when their trade secrets were misappropriated or stolen. She has defended products liability claims ranging from propane tank explosions to pharmaceutical cases. With her background of partnership in large, prestigious law firms, Ms Spencer combines big-firm lawyering skills and quality with small firm efficiency and costs.
